Adams new director of UAFS Center for Lifelong Learning

Jeff Adams of Hutchinson, Kan., is the new director for the Center for Lifelong Learning at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, effective Jan. 31.

Adams will have responsibility for the operation of the center and for broadening and increasing noncredit and credit opportunities for the UAFS service areas in Arkansas and Oklahoma, according to a university release.

He will oversee logistics, personnel and programs of the center; recruit, interview and select support and instructional staff; and develop and administer policies and processes to direct the center. He will also work closely with community members to develop programs for continuing education and lifelong learning.

Adams served as the associate director of continuing education at Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, Kan., for the past three years and previously worked for four years as an education specialist at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan. Adams’ experience also includes working as a market specialist at Missouri State University in Springfield.
 
Adams has a bachelor’s degree in management studies from Waikato University in New Zealand and a master’s in education from Baker University.
