Erica Buneo, a University of Arkansas at Fort Smith student, achieved a first for the Fort Smith advertising community by winning a national Gold ADDY in the 2010 ADDY Awards of the American Advertising Federation.

Buneo of Fort Smith won with her entry, the Dos Gatos Inn & Spa logo from her Identity Design class project. She earned the only National Gold ADDY for logo design and was one of only 16 overall student Gold ADDYs to be awarded this year.

"It is certainly a big honor, and we really enjoyed having the opportunity to see all the other student and professional entries that won awards," said Buneo. "I am lucky to have had such great instructors and classmates at UA Fort Smith. All have provided helpful feedback and advice over the course of my education."

The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association, conducts the ADDY Awards through its 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts. It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry. The competition draws more than 60,000 entries annually.
