Arvest Makes Mobile Moves
Much of retail banking is migrating to electronic services like mobile banking via cell phones. The Bank of Fayetteville, Metropolitan National Bank, Arvest Bank and others have introduced mobile products since the beginning of the year. Arvest, the largest of the three, had signed up more than 850 users by April 16, about 18 business days after it began registration for the service, or an average of 47 per day.
Another new e-product from the big blue bank is a “payWave” debit card featuring a Northwest Arkansas Naturals tie-in. It’s a “natural” fit since Arvest purchased the naming rights for the team’s home ballpark for an undisclosed sum. At any rate, the bank has issued more than 1,100 Naturals debit cards in the same 18 days, or 61 per day.
