Williams to Tee Off

Steve Williams of Fayetteville is finalizing a lease agreement that will allow him to reopen a driving range on Wedington Drive.
John Alford of Forest Hills Partners LLC of Fort Smith bought the property known as the Sports Park of Arkansas for $4 million in 2005. Lee Spencer was the previous owner before closing it down earlier that year.
Williams, who ran the Gaslight Harbor club in Fayetteville during the 1970s, plans to open the driving range for the summer and fall only. He’s shooting to have it opened by May 1, and may partner with a golf equipment dealer to sell retail merchandise out of the golf shop.
