Gray Appointed To Commission

In February Gov. Mike Beebe appointed Darin Gray of Springdale to the State Parks, Recreation and Travel Commission, where he will serve a six-year term.
Gray is CEO and president of Gray Matters LLC, which publishes the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal, Northwest Arkansas Newcomers Guide, Northwest Arkansas Guest Guide and Northwest Arkansas Book of Lists.
Gray, former president and publisher of the Northwest Arkansas division of Arkansas Business Publishing Group (publisher of Arkansas Business), acquired majority ownership of the Business Journal from ABPG and formed Gray Matters in 2004.
Gray said tourism is important to the state economy, and his economic background will be an asset.
Members of the commission include: chairman Jay Bunyard (DeQueen), vice-chairman Steve Arrison (Hot Springs), Bill Barnes (Mount Ida), Danny Ford (Rector), Jim Gatson (Lakeview), Debbie Haak (Texarkana), Bob Knight (Mountain Home), Billy Lindsey (Heber Springs), Montine McNulty (Little Rock), Mike Mills (Ponca), Ness Sechrest (West Memphis), Jim Shamburger (Little Rock) and Wade Williams (Eureka Springs).
