Mall Rats
General Growth Properties Inc. has been so busy signing up retailers at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade that it has yet to lease any of the available office space at the Rogers mall.
There’s a total of 80,000-SF of Class A office space on the second level of a portion of the open-air mall. David Faulkner, senior general manager for General Growth, said there have been plenty of inquiries from Wal-Mart vendors and medical offices.
“It’s been so hectic that we may end up looking at an outside firm to help with the leasing,” Faulkner said. “If we had one person whose primary focus was leasing the offices, we’d probably be filling it up.”
As far as retail, the mall continues to move forward and has recently started constructing two of the five buildings planned for the Pinnacle Plaza on the northeast side of the property. Faulkner said negotiations are underway with prospective retailers for the plaza, which will include 250,000 SF of the nearly 1 million-SF mall.
General Growth is developing and managing the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in partnership with the Pinnacle Group of Rogers.
