Homebuilder Cuts Home Prices
One homebuilder has found what it hopes is a sure fire way to keep inventory moving.
Aaron Nickell Homes of Lowell has cut prices on one of its slower-selling floor plans in the Pine Meadows subdivision on Arkansas Highway 12 in Bentonville.
The price of the builder’s 1,450-SF, four-bedroom floor plan has been trimmed from $95 per SF to $90 per SF. That cuts the overall price by more than 5 percent, from $137,750 to $130,500.
Aaron Nickell Homes sales manager Jason Yount said the floor plan has a smaller kitchen than other four-bedroom homes in the same subdivision, causing the majority of buyers to choose the other floor plan. He said the company still is selling between 15 to 20 homes a month.
“That’s good, but when you have 215-plus of them in that $123,000 to $150,000 range, we’ve got to move them,” Yount said. “We’ve just recently slashed that price in an effort to get some kind of activity going with it, so we’ll have to see what happens.”
