Reynolds to Buy On the Rocks
The owners of On the Rocks Patio & Grill plan to sell the business and 5,244-SF section of the Fayetteville Mercantile building to Evan Reynolds.
Wes Cooper, Van Ngo and Bryan Cooper opened the popular late-night hangout in 2002 at 339 West Ave.
Wes Cooper said the sale should be completed around May 8. He wouldn’t say how much Reynolds is paying for the business and real estate. As WV LLC, Ngo and the Coopers bought the building in 2004 for $485,000.
Wes Cooper said there are no plans to change the name or the atmosphere of the bar, which has a 3,456-SF rooftop deck that is used for dining space. On the Rocks employs 15 people.
On the Rocks had $387,800 in food, beer and wine sales last year, according to Fayetteville tax records. The bar also had $124,560 in liquor sales in 2005, according to city records.
Wes Cooper will shift his focus to Rogers and open another bar and grill, called Eddie Haskell’s, in September across the street from the Embassy Suites hotel. His partners in that business are Scott Crossett and Rick Harris.
Wes Cooper said the new bar and grill will “serve more than burgers and wings” but said the menu hasn’t been finalized. They will lease a 4,800-SF building that will seat 140 people and have a patio that will seat 90, he said.
