Arvest Debit Users Rank High With Visa
We hear the debit card division of the blue Bentonville banking behemoth is going gangbusters.
Information from Visa, the bank’s debit card clearinghouse, shows that Arvest was its 29th most active bank customer by debit card sales dollars processed for 2005, up from the 37th slot a year before. That means Arvest customers use their cards to fill up at the pump and buy groceries and are “sophisticated,” according to Arvest officials.
The bank, which is relatively small by national standards, had $8.15 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, up 12.6 percent from $7.24 billion at the end of 2004.
As of June 30, it was the leader in deposit market share in the six-county area with 31 percent of the share, or about $3.43 billion in deposits.
