Travis Hayden worked hard to start his new Rogers business. He had to work with his father for four years in a similar business before he could branch out on his own. Now Hayden has launched NWA Colors, a mobile auto body repair service.

Hayden said he works for several auto dealerships but will also serve individuals who have minor bumper repair jobs, auto body scratches or chips that can be repaired on site.

“I’m kind of a micro body shop,” Hayden said about the mobile business he operates from his Dodge Ram pickup.

Hayden said he uses air guns like a regular body shop, but rapid-dry chemicals in his paint allow it to set up within three to four minutes. The process doesn’t have to take place in a dust-free chamber.

“A lot of people just touch up with paint brushes, but this is better quality,” Hayden said.

Hayden doesn’t plan to hire additional employees for NWA Colors. He wants to keep the business small enough for him to handle and maintain quality control.

He estimates it took $10,000 to start the business, but most of that cost was paid in the four years of on-the-job training Hayden spent with his father. Hayden said he’s already making a profit.
