Road Systems to Add 120 Jobs in Searcy

Road Systems Inc. of Searcy, which makes freight trailers and other transportation equipment, said three new contracts will enable it to hire 120 new workers.
A subsidiary of publicly traded CNF Inc., Road Systems said it has filled about 40 percent of the jobs needed at its 200,000-SF plant in Searcy. The average wage at the company is about $14.47.
Road Systems did not name the companies with which it has new contracts. It said it obtained the contracts after CNF changed a policy allowing Road Systems to market its trailers to trucking companies throughout the country. Road Systems said it projects a 400 percent growth in business in 2004.
Road Systems opened in Searcy in 1994.
