Springdale Building Activity Increases
Building activity in Springdale has seen a slight increase, said Marisol Alcaraz, that city’s building inspection clerk.
When comparing the first six months of building activity in 2003 to the first six months of building activity in 2004, the building permits indicate that the total valuation issued for all permits has increased 20 percent from $85.2 million in 2003 to $102.1 million in 2004.
Alcaraz said that some commercial developments such as the Springdale Sports Complex, valued at $7 million, the Washington County Care center, valued at $6.4 million and the Circle of Life Hospice building, valued at $1.7 million, should be taken into account for the total valuation increase over 2003. Alcaraz said the permit office issued more residential-type permits at this time last year.
