Tucker Buys out Alpha
Don Tucker has led a buyout of Springdale-based Alpha Pickup & Delivery.r
The company was founded in 1997 by Tucker and Wesley Robinson, who was the majority shareholder.r
Tucker said he and two other silent partners bought all of Robinson’s stock. The deal began in July and was completed on Oct. 1.r
With the change, the company moved across town to 888 E. Robinson St., Suite A, to be near the Springdale Municipal Airport.r
“We’ve focused our business plan and geared it more toward heavy freight and line-haul as opposed to just pickup and delivery,” Tucker said.r
Tucker said the company is more of a regional carrier now, with trucks traveling regularly to Dallas, Tulsa and Springfield, Mo. It offers local pickup and deliver and same-day service.r
The 45-employee firm had 2002 revenue of $6 million. Tucker said revenue has increased by 100 percent each year since the firm was founded.
