Ben Israel, who has a majority interest in Next Generation Building Products LLC of Rogers, recently met with Mississippi Gov. Ronnie Musgrove to discuss future business in the Delta. The two met at Musgrove’s Jackson, Miss., home.

Israel, of Fayetteville, said several meetings with Musgrove and his staff have led to discussions about Next Generation partnering with a developer to create affordable homes in the Mississippi Delta.

Next Generation builds steel studs and trusses for houses and has a soybean oil-based insulating foam that Israel said dramtically saves on heating and cooling costs.

“We will select a town in the Delta that has a high unemployment rate so we can give some industry to that area,” Israel said.

While not a done deal, Israel said the project could mean 15-20 jobs in some town, with the possibility of adding more plants down the road.
