Dave and Paula Routon noticed a void in printing and graphic design services in Northwest Arkansas and set out to fill it.

They negotiated a franchise for PROforma Print Logistics and simultaneously opened Parachuting Penguins, a full-service graphic design business with a name that reflects its “coming to the rescue” attitude and services.

Parachuting Penguins offers print, copy and laminating services, and PROforma handles any medium- to large-run print jobs, including print services for promotional items, such as hats, shirts, cups, mugs, etc.

The new business especially caters to those traveling on business. Parachuting Penguins can print copies of Power Point presentations, for example, and deliver them to the meeting designation.

Routon said they plan to begin offering a delivery-holding service so that if packages of products or presentation materials need to arrive before the traveler, Parachuting Penguins can receive the delivery, hold the boxes and deliver them to the meeting destination.

“That way we can get this stuff out of the hotels that really don’t want to deal with it anyway,” he said.

The couple also offers an emergency service. They’ll open up after their 6 p.m. closing to complete a rush-job, for a fee.

Parachuting Penguins is also a certified Federal Express shipping agent. They plan to add space to the shop’s 1,600SF.
