Rent-a-CFO Service Rolled Out by Meads

Richard H. Meads, the former vice president of finance for Mercari Technologies Inc. in Fayetteville, has introduced a new line of customized chief financial officer and controller services for area businesses. His H.R. Meads & Co. public accounting practice, founded last year in Springdale, is offering the expanded financial management and advisory services both on retainer and as fee-based products.

Meads has a decade of experience in business management including a six-year stint as audit manager and regional financial director for “Big Four” accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers in Miami, Fla.

He said the idea is to give developing businesses affordable expertise. The services include business plans, cost studies and even recruitment of accounting personnel.

The firm has about 50 clients, most of which are commercial accounts. It also offers Intacct Corp.’s Web-based accounting services, which are accessible via any current Web browser. Intacct was recently named as one of IBM Corp.’s e-Business on Demand application partners.

“Intacct’s software gives me access real-time online so that wherever I am, I can securely dial into a customer’s accounting records and study and help alleviate problems,” Meads said.
