Pinnacle Air Plans Buy of Springdale Service
Pinnacle Air Group, LLC has signed a tentative multi-million-dollar agreement to purchase Springdale Air Service Inc. and take over the fixed-base operation at the Springdale Airport terminal. The agreement is expected to be approved by the Springdale Airport Commission this month.
Mark Courdin, president of Springdale Air, said the company didn’t have the resources needed to grow the business. Pinnacle Air Group has the resources “to provide unparalleled service to the aviation industry in Northwest Arkansas and at Springdale Municipal Airport.”
Pinnacle Air was established in 2000 and based at the Rogers Municipal Airport. The private flight service is owned by Bill Schwyhart, J.B. Hunt, Collins Haynes and Robert Thornton.
The company owns three jet aircraft — two Lear 31As and a Mitsubishi Diamond jet — and plans to purchase two additional jets this year.
“Pinnacle Air expects to become the premier provider of executive class jet services in the Northwest Arkansas regional market,” the company said in a press release.
