Rogers Mall to Host Impressionist Painter
Thomas Kincade, called the foremost American living impressionist painter, will make his first trip to Arkansas when he appears at the Thomas Kincade Signature Gallery at Rogers’ Shelby Lane Mall.
Kincade will be on stage at the mall Oct. 12, beginning at 8 a.m. There, he will speak to a select audience and do an original sketch that will be sold at auction.
Nita Larimore, owner of the mall since 1992, called Kincade’s visit “the biggest thing that has ever happened to us.”
“We are, needless to say, delighted,” Larimore said. “This is a real honor.”
He was named the 1995 Artist of the Year and the 1996, 1997 and 1998 Graphic Artist of the Year from the National Association of Limited Edition Dealers. He also won the 1995 Collector Editions Award of Excellence and was a charter inductee to the Bradford International Hall of Fame. In August of 1997, Kincade received the Distinguished Service Award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the first time this award was presented to an artist.
Anyone who buys a Thomas Kincade Limited Edition canvas between Oct. 1 and the time of his visit can have the painting signed by Kincade.
