Northwest Arkansans who hate to wash their windows will be happy to meet Del and Pat McCall of Springdale. The husband-and-wife team recently opened A Touch of Glass to dispose of the chore for their customers.

After a free price estimate, the McCalls hand wash each window, removing storm windows and scrubbing inside and out. Del McCall washed windows for 15 years at other companies before opening his venture.

A Touch of Glass accommodates commercial and residential clients, and the price varies among projects. An office with 15-20 storm windows costs about $120 to clean, Pat McCall said.

In addition to glass shining, A Touch of Glass offers power-washing for cleaning building exteriors and parking lots with hot, soapy water. The McCalls tow the power-washer, which is similar to a wand unit at a car wash, to each job site. They’ll travel as far as Little Rock for a project.

Start-up costs for the enterprise were minimal, Pat McCall said, because the couple’s family already owned the power-washer.
