It’s amazing what you can find on eBay, the world’s largest online auction site.
We recently saw where you could buy a 5 percent interest in Wonderland Cave near Bella Vista. Bidding started at $1 and was up to $2,000 as of July 3. The auction started June 19 and was scheduled to end July 19.
John Smith returned our e-mail message to say the cave/club is being renovated by Wonderland/Sunset Properties Inc. He’s vice president of the corporation.
Current plans “call for a $100 million dollar investment in this wonderful project,” the ad said. “Through these efforts the historic Wonderland Cave & Club and the Sunset Hotel will once again be a symbol of community pride.”
Billed as “the world’s largest underground cave & club,” the online ad went through the history of the cave as a nightclub and had a virtual slideshow of old postcards.
The cave, which has more than 700,000-SF of lighted passageways, is situated on more than 30 acres of land, according to the eBay posting.
