Dillard?s Same-Store Sales Dropped in May
Dillard’s Inc., the Little Rock-based department store chain, said its May sales at its stores open at least a year fell 5 percent from a year ago.
Total sales for the four weeks ending June 2 fell 4 percent to $581.7 million compared with last year’s May sales of $607.5 million.
Sales for the year-to-date period ended June 2 were about $2.5 billion compared to last year’s sales for the same period of about $2.6 billion, a decrease of about 7 percent on both a total and comparable store basis, Dillard’s said.
The department store operator has stores in 29 states.
With its two stores combined, Dillard’s takes up more square footage in Fayetteville’s Northwest Arkansas Mall than any other store.
