Registered nurse Jacqueline Sence recently opened Laser Beauty & Skin Care, a hair-removal salon located in the Village on the Creeks Athletic Club in Rogers. Operating from a 144-SF treatment room, Sence uses a Candela Corp. brand laser to destroy the follicles of unwanted hair.
A blast of cryogen cools the skin less than a second before the quarter-sized laser pulses, and Sence recommends patients receive the treatment for a minimum of six sessions for permanent hair thinning.
Fees for the process depend on the amount of hair to be removed as well as the location, Sence said, and she performs a test spot when the patients attend a consultation. After working as a nurse for 18 years, Sence attended about one week of training to become certified to operate the hand-held laser.
Dr. R. David Cannon, a pain-management physician in Springdale, supervises Laser Beauty & Skin Care. Sence wouldn’t disclose the business’ initial opening costs.
