Jody Davis opened Superior Abstract & Title Co. last November to offer Northwest Arkansas a comfortable place to finish the details of real estate business. The company updates abstracts, sells property title insurance, and prepares legal documents for real estate closings.
“When people come to close on a house, they are usually nervous,” Davis said. “This is the single largest investment that a person will make in a lifetime. Our goal is to make people comfortable from the first moment they walk in the door.”
To help clients feel at ease with Superior Abstract & Title, Davis spent $75,000-$100,000 to furnish and equip the 2,100-SF Springdale office. Seven people, including Davis and a full-time lawyer, staff the business.
Fees vary by case at Superior Abstract & Title. The loan amount determines the expense of title insurance and real estate closings cost $200-$250. Davis charges $50-$75 for document preparation.
