Kohl?s Opens Three Stores in Area
Kohl’s opened three 87,000-SF department stores in Northwest Arkansas on April 16.
The stores — in Fayetteville, Rogers and Fort Smith — are the first in Arkansas for the Wisconsin-based retailer. Each store held a grand opening celebration on April 20.
Doug Arnoldi, Kohl’s district manager for Arkansas and Oklahoma, said the company officially opened 19 stores nationwide on the same day the Arkansas stores opened. He said the company, which has more than 360 stores, plans to open about 50 this year.
Arnoldi said Kohl’s inventory is split between apparel (about 60 percent) and housewares (about 40 percent). He said Kohl’s competes directly with Dillard’s, J.C. Penny and Sears.
