We told you back in December that Beta Rubicon Inc., the technology due-diligence firm in Fayetteville, was planning a national rollout. Well, the firm recently found $300,000 in local seed money that will be used to establish an Austin, Texas, office possibly as early as the second quarter.

All we could find out is that the money came from local investors.

The rollout will probably include another prototype site in a high-tech hotbed like Atlanta or the Golden Triangle in North Carolina. The two satellites will be expanded into eight additional locations over the next 18 months or so.

The firm does technology and financial assessments for companies with developing technologies. It’s been active in Tennessee, Louisiana and Ohio. General manager Ron Goforth said he hoped the firm’s rollout could be self-supporting within 12 months.
