Arkansas Best Corp.

Fort Smith-based Arkansas Best Corp. announced on Sept. 11 that its largest subsidiary, ABF Freight System Inc., had chosen its 2001 Load Team. The group of freight-handling professionals, selected based on safety records and participation in the company’s quality program, consists of nine employees from across the firm’s North American network.

Ronald W. Crouse of Little Rock was the only team member from Arkansas. The program has proven to be a successful self-promotion vehicle for the company which traded last quarter between $17 and $9 per share.

Wes Kemp, ABF’s vice president of operations, said the 2001 Load Team represents the best of the company’s best employees.
