In the business of welcoming, smiles become essential. Lisa Leonard uses her smile quite a bit as she introduces new residents to the business community in Fayetteville.
“Newbies have to re-establish everything from plumbers to good restaurants,” Leonard says. Businesses work with Leonard to prepare a welcoming package for new residents.
“It is an opportunity for businesses to be the first to welcome newcomers,” Leonard says. Special promotions, product samples, magnets and pens make up her welcoming packages.
Leonard enjoys greeting new Fayetteville residents, and her past experience with greeting helps her in this new endeavor. For three years, Leonard was communications director for the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, and she worked with Welcome Wagon.
“I still run into people that I welcomed way back then,” Leonard says.
Currently, Leonard is lining up business contacts to prepare the welcoming packages, and her actual rounds to new residents are set to begin in January.
