Back to School
The revitalization of Fayetteville’s Dickson Street is spreading south along School Avenue.
Tim Klinger, a Fayetteville lawyer, is having a two-story, 8,000-SF building constructed on a lot he owns on School Avenue just south of the Dickson Street Bookshop. A decade ago, the lot was home to a retail store, Ozark Mountain Sports.
The mixed-use development, called School Street Center, will house offices, retail space and apartments.
Kelly Sutterfield of Wittenberg, Deloney & Davidson is the architect for the project. She says the building will be “simply brick, but highly detailed.” Sutterfield says the building will blend in with other renovation projects taking place in the area.
She says construction will begin in mid-October and will be completed in about 10 months. The entire project is estimated to cost $600,000.
Heckathorn Construction Co. is the contractor, and Green-Anderson Engineers Inc. is also working on the project. All companies involved in the project are based in Fayetteville.
