Nothing Brewing on West Mountain
Speaking of delays, construction has yet to begin on West Mountain Brewery, which was scheduled to open last winter on the downtown Fayetteville square.
John Schmuecker, the business owner, says Heckathorn Construction Co. of Fayetteville was the original contractor, but he may have to find another company to do the job. So Schmuecker says he doesn’t know when the brewery will open.
In the meantime, for about a year now, Schmuecker has been paying rent on the empty building, which previously housed two shops, Doodle Bugs and The Southern Gentleman. The brewery site is next door to Tiny Tim’s Pizza, which is also owned by Schmuecker.
The building is owned by E.G. Bradberry.
With the additional space, Schmuecker’s pizzeria and brewery will take up half the block on the south side of the square.
Schmuecker says he now has room for 100 seats at Tiny Tim’s, but the expansion will double his space and the number of seats.
Schmuecker plans to serve four to six different microbrewed beers on a regular basis at West Mountain Brewery. Dining will be available on the brewery side of the establishment as well as at Tiny Tim’s. Schmuecker says he plans to add new items to the menu and will start serving mixed drinks when the microbrewery opens.
