By the end of February, Jimmy Houston, the fishing guide with his own nationally syndicated television show, plans to open a retail boat store at 2414 S. 8th St. in Rogers.

A 7,500-SF showroom building will be constructed at the five-acre site. Houston will carry Ranger and Glastron boats initially, says Dower Combs, who oversees Houston’s three stores. The other two are in Oklahoma — one on Lake Tenkiller and the other in Broken Arrow.

Houston will rent the property from Northwest Capital Partners LLC, which consists of Bill Schwyhart, owner of Hart Motor Co. of Rogers, James T. “Red” Hudson (former president of Hudson Foods Inc.), Gerald Johnston (a former CFO with Tyson Foods Inc.) and Robert Thornton.

Bart Ratliff will manage the new store.
