Ben Pollock was scheduled to take over as night metro editor at The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas on Jan. 25. Pollock and his wife had been managing a bed and breakfast inn near Eureka Springs before he took the job in Springdale. He worked for the Arkansas Democrat from 1985 to 1991 and for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette from 1991 to February 1998, most recently serving as Sunday editor.

Pollock will replace Charlie Alison, who left the editor position to work as a reporter covering the city of Fayetteville for the Morning News.

Roger Hedges, state editor for the D-G, has been promoted to the new position of metro editor for the Little Rock newspaper. Tyler Tucker, assistant city editor, has been named to replace Hedges as state editor. Tucker will “supervise news gathering outside the central Arkansas area,” according to the D-G.

Travis Doster, who has been a photographer for the Morning News for the past eight years, left in January to work for Central Parking in Louisville, Ky.
