Northwest Medical Enjoys Baby Boom in August

Also at Northwest Medical Center, the hospital set a new record for deliveries in August.

Spokeswoman Georgia McCurdy says the hospital recorded 122 deliveries in the month, an all-time record at the Springdale facility.

McCurdy says the number of births has been climbing steadily. It was only this year that Northwest reported more than 100 births in a single month.

The hospital’s sister institution, Bates Medical Center in Bentonville, doesn’t have obstetrics facilities but its new birthing center, similar to what Northwest has, opens Jan. 1.
