Arvest in OK

Expect an announcement soon concerning the ownership of The Oklahoma National Bank of Duncan and Security National Bank & Trust Co. of Norman, Okla. Those are the banks in which Arvest Bank Group and First Commercial Corp. share ownership — or they have ’til now.

We hear Arvest may end up as sole owner of the banks, giving the Bentonville-based group another boost in its Oklahoma market share.

Together, the two banks have assets of about $298 million and deposits totaling $265 million.

Federal regulators recently approved Arvest’s purchase of Ameribank Corp. of Shawnee and United Oklahoma Bancshares Inc. of Del City, Okla. Those institutions added about $500 million in assets to Arvest’s total.

First Commercial is, of course, being purchased by Regions Financial Corp. of Alabama.
