Company Buys Five KFC Restaurants

Newmark Foods Inc. bought two Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants in Benton County on Dec. 15. The purchase brings the total of KFC restaurants the company has bought in Benton and Washington counties to five.

Newmark Foods bought the KFC restaurant at 911 Arkansas Highway 412 in Siloam Springs for $280,000. The company bought the KFC restaurant at 314 N. Walton Blvd. in Bentonville for $383,000.

In Washington County, the company has bought the KFC restaurant at 2117 W. Sixth St. in Fayetteville and two KFCs in Springdale, one at 2638 W. Sunset Ave. and the other at 600 S. Thompson St. All the restaurants formerly were owned by Kentucky Fried Chicken of California Inc.

The purchases were financed with a $3.53 million line of credit with AMRESCO Commercial Lending Corp. of Boise, Idaho. Robert Mott is president of Newmark Foods and Cecil Mott is vice president. Both men are from Corrales, N.M.
