5-Star Productions Shoots Northward

Fort Smith-based 5-Star Productions Inc. is expanding into Rogers to meet a growing demand for its services in the area. The company specializes in producing television commercials and for-hire video productions.
Owner Mike Hart said 2005 was the company’s best year yet, with $700,000 in sales. At least 50 percent of that comes from clients in Northwest Arkansas such as ANB Financial N.A., St. Mary’s Hospital, TaylorMack Advertising and New Creature.
“Gradually, our business has moved north,” said Hart, who bought the company in 1996.
5-Star recently purchased 2.7 acres at N. 2nd Street in Rogers for an undisclosed amount.
Plans include a 7,500-SF office that will house a 1,000-SF movie theater.
Hart plans to keep both offices open, but may scale back staff and the size in Fort Smith.
Hart also is hoping to team up with some investors to build another office building on the property.
The new office should be ready to open next summer.
