Putman Opens Law Firm in Fayetteville
Bill Putman, a former in-house attorney for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., has left the world’s largest retailer and opened his own firm in downtown Fayetteville.
Putman, a former communications professor and slide guitar player for Jed Clampit, managed some high-profile cases for Wal-Mart, including the world’s largest civil rights class-action law suit, Dukes vs. Wal-Mart.
Putman was chief deputy Attorney General under now-Sen. Mark Pryor before going to work for Wal-Mart, where he was promoted to associate general counsel before leaving the company in January. He officially opened the new firm on May 2.
