Ozark Aircraft Searches for Airport Staff
Ozark Aircraft Systems LLC is looking for about 300 airframe and propulsion mechanics to staff its new facilities at the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport.
“Hard to believe, isn’t it?” says Ed Moitoza, human resources director for the company. “It scares me as a human resources person.”
The company is in its second year of business in Northwest Arkansas and already employs about 75 people. That number will increase to about 125 by Christmas, 300 by the spring and 500 by the end of next year. The biggest obstacle the company faces is finding enough trained people to fill the positions.
“We’ll be recruiting very hard,” Moitoza says.
The company already has received about 300 resumes and expects about 75 percent of them are employable. Many of them are native Arkansans who left the state to find jobs in the avionics field and now want to return home, Moitoza says.
OAS also has the contract with American Eagle to provide maintenance to the fleet of regional jets the airline will be operating from the new airport.
