rComputer limitations seem to dwindle when businesses like iTerra Inc. open their doors in Northwest Arkansas. In a wireless age of modems, fax machines, cellular telephones and hand-held computers, iTerra promotes more functions for technology.

rOwners Jeff Turner, Kendall Price and Ken Young program different computers to be able to “talk” to each other. Writing the software and synchronizing personal computers to understand commands from other devices, the three co-owners agree that boundaries for their line of work continue to shrink.

rAn explosion of wireless applications seems just over the horizon.

r”You’re going to get so much mobile [technology] down your throat, you’re going to get sick of it,” Young said. He wants iTerra to be a large part of creating applications for the spread of wireless technology.

r Operating payroll from remote job sites gives an example of the technology. Workers at a site can clock in their time at the location by using a hand-held computer that logs the information into a personal computer at the home office.

rTo start the business, iTerra owners spent more than $20,000, Young said.

rThe shop also markets Aether Systems Inc. products, and the larger company helps iTerra by sharing technology and training with the three partners.
