Shani Walls, one of the two anchors hired for the resurrection of NBC 24/51 after eight years off the air, has left the station.

“We just decided it was in everybody’s best interest that we all go in separate directions,” said David Needham, general manager of NBC 24/51. Needham refused to comment further.

Rhonda Justice, a reporter with NBC 24/51, has been filling in as anchor along with Don Elkins, who was hired with Walls.

The station, which broadcasts as KPOM/KFAA, is advertising for an anchor in national trade journals.

Walls, who was previously with a cable station in Austin, Texas, was with NBC 24/51 for less than three months before leaving in mid-September.
