Gov. Mike Huckabee was recently elected chairman of the Southern Growth Policies Board, which is comprised of the governors of 13 Southern states plus Puerto Rico. At Southern Growth’s 2001 summit, which will be held next June 23-26 in Hot Springs, the group plans to develop ways Southern states can use technology to tap into global business opportunities.
According to a release sent out by Huckabee’s staff, he views next year’s event as an opportunity to ensure that “Arkansas is on the cutting edge of the information age.”
Huckabee said tech legislation will be a centerpiece of his 2001 legislative package.
