A China-based company plans to make Farmington the headquarters for its U.S. distributorship.
Agracat Inc. Tractors of Arkansas, founded by Jim Steele, Mel Robinson and Charles Foster, is hoping to be in full swing by October. Area retail dealerships will include Sonora, Siloam Springs, Harrison and Ozark, while businesses as far away as Hawaii have expressed interest in becoming a dealership.
The tractors, manufactured in China, will have parts available 24 hours a day around the country. The Farmington office will have eight employees.
The tractors will be available in two- and three-cylinder diesel with two- or four-wheel drive and a full line of attachments. There are also 20- and 25-horsepower models available with even more sizes to come in the future.
The tractors will range in price from $6,999 to $10,999.
