Julie Spearman, 66, passed away at Mercy Hospital on November 13, 2025. She was born to Kenneth Bellah (deceased) and Norene Bellah in Oklahoma City, OK on January 7, 1959. She was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, co-worker, and friend. She was married to Gary Spearman for 39 years, and they shared 5 children: Steven Spearman (Tracy Spearman), Eric Martin (Natasha Martin), Aiden Graham (Ve’ Alexander), Aaron Spearman (Austin Woodward) and Dylan Spearman (Nicole Spearman).
Julie was a sister to Terry Bellah (Shawna Hurdle) and Jennifer Bellah (deceased). She had four grandchildren: Ben Martin, Lexi Martin, Katelyn Spearman, and Hailey Spearman and five nieces and nephews: Lindsey Castle, Kyle Cummings, Patrick Bellah, Alex Bellah, and Griffin Bellah.
Julie attended school at John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City, OK and Greenwood High School in Greenwood, AR. She earned her RN certification at Excelsior College. Julie worked at Mercy Hospital as Manager of IP Care Management or “Chaos Wrangler” as was listed on her nametag. Prior to her time at Mercy, she worked at Amedisys as a Home Health Supervisor.
Julie spent more than 30 years caring for others as a nurse, touching the lives of thousands of patients, their families, and her co-workers, but her greatest joy was always her family. She loved them fiercely, celebrated them proudly, and poured her heart into every moment she shared with them. Her work family held a special place in her heart as well. She made each day brighter with her quiet strength, kindness, and dry sense of humor. Life was warmer because Julie was in it. Though we feel her loss deeply, her spirit lives on in the people she loved, the lives she eased, and the family who will carry her memory forward.
Viewing will be Monday, November 17 from 1 – 7 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fort Smith, AR. The Nurses Honor Guard of the River Valley will provide honors.
