Flossie Cheline, 91, of Cameron, OK passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025. She was born on June 25, 1934 in Spiro, OK to the late Albert and Lena (Bain) Carter. Flossie was fortunate to have a long and productive life. She grew up in the Spiro area, where her father was a sharecropper. She shared many times about picking cotton, raising a garden, and raising farm animals. Flossie was a Christian and her faith was very important to her. Her first husband, Junior Easton, was a minister. Flossie and Junior spent many years working in the ministry and spreading the good news of Jesus. Unfortunately, Flossie lost Junior in an auto accident after twenty years of marriage. After marrying her second husband, Conrad Swearingen, they began operating a poultry and cattle operation in Natural Dam, Arkansas. She also owned and operated Flossie’s Beauty Shop out of her home in Natural Dam for over thirty years. She lost Conrad after thirty years of marriage. After his death, she moved back to Cameron, Oklahoma to be near her only child, Donna Easton Ridenour. While living in Cameron, she met her third husband, James Cheline. She and James were retired and spent their years enjoying each other’s company, attending Cameron Methodist Church, and spending time with family and friends. Flossie lost James after fifteen years of marriage. In addition to these losses, she was preceded in death by her only child, Donna Ridenour; four sisters, Mary Lou Craig, Lorene Sehorn, Judean Tackett and Dortha Pound, and three brothers, Marvin, Fred and Larry Carter.
She is survived by her only grandchild, Brant Ridenour and wife Melana of Poteau, OK; two great grandchildren, Chase Ridenour and Emma Ridenour of Pocola, Oklahoma, her sister, Juanita Crow, and her brothers, Dan and Robert Carter.
Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday September 5, 2025 at Greenhill Cemetery in Cameron, OK under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home Van Buren.
