Walmart express removes $35 minimum for delivery of online groceries

Walmart is dropping the $35 minimum order requirement on its Express delivery service that was rolled out in May to deliver general merchandise direct to consumers in less than two hours.

The announcement now includes two-hour delivery of groceries without a $35 minimum order for Walmart+ subscribers who pay $98 annually or $12.95 monthly for membership. Walmart said it will continue to charge the $10 delivery fee for Walmart+ online grocery orders but there is no minimum order required.

Walmart said Express delivery is available through almost 3,000 of its stores, with service accessible to nearly 70% of the U.S. population. Consumers who want to access Walmart’s Express services can do so on the retailer’s mobile app. Walmart said customers select the Express Delivery at checkout and within the two-hour window the order will be delivered to the consumer.

The retail giant also made the distinction that $35 minimum order does still apply for its curbside pickup or standard delivery.
