Alek Srbinovski grew up in Macedonia before arriving in the U.S. as a foreign exchange student in Little Rock.
He earned an economics degree in December 2003 from the University of Central Arkansas, then headed to California with all of $500 in his pocket. It was a chance meeting with a CaseStack recruiter a few months later that set him on the path that eventually led him back to Arkansas.
CaseStack interviewed and hired him in May 2004. The Santa Monica-based logistics company was then only 5 years old and hired Srbinovski for a sales position in its nascent transportation services division.
Srbinovski excelled quickly, setting company sales records and earning a promotion to a team leader position. In late 2007, company leaders offered him the chance to help launch the company’s new office for the transportation services division in Fayetteville. He was promoted to his current job in 2016, managing a team of six inside sales managers who oversee roughly 60 employees.
While sales director, Srbinovski said revenue growth has averaged 15% year-over-year at CaseStack. The company was acquired last year by publicly-traded logistics provider Hub Group in an all-cash deal worth $255 million.
Being a part of the company’s growth into a critical player in the transportation and less-than-truckload industry is an accomplishment of which he is most proud.
Srbinovski’s professional goal at
CaseStack is to be a vice president. His daily goal is to train and empower sales managers to be as good as or better than he is.
“The only way you can continue to grow is to create opportunities for growth for the people that you manage,” he said.
Srbinovski also supervises CaseStack’s summer internship program.
