Santos Fernandez

Santos Fernandez, age 87, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at Sequoyah Manor. She was born on February 19, 1939, in Rocksprings, Texas, to Alejandro Fernandez Sr. and Angelita Rodriguez Fernandez.

Santos was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around caring for others. She worked faithfully as a housekeeper and caregiver, always offering kindness, compassion, and a helping hand to those around her. She especially loved sewing and took great joy in making things for her family. Whether through a handmade gift, a warm meal, or simple acts of love, Santos made those around her feel cared for and cherished.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Leticia Arango Bowden; her grandchildren, Reynaldo, Joshua, Trini, Brenda, Alex, and Kaycee; and her great-grandchildren, Austin, Amie, Isabella, Zelma, Carlos, Carter, Trina, and Jasper. She is also survived by her siblings, Beatrice Gonzales, Fidencio Fernandez, and Paula Gonzales, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Santos was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro Fernandez Sr. and Angelita Fernandez; her husband, Manuel Arango Sr.; her son, Manuel Arango Jr.; her siblings, Gonzalo Fernandez, Emma Fernandez, and Vidal Fernandez; her half-brothers, Lorenzo Fernandez and Alejandro Fernandez Jr.; and Guadalupe Castanuela.

Services will be held at a later date in Junction, Texas; cremation is under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
