Kayvron Joy Hammond, age 69, of Fort Smith, passed away on May 5, 2026. She was born on February 11, 1957, to S.K. Stewart and Mildred (Slaughter) Stewart.

Kayvron married the love of her life, Alan John Hammond in Tujunga, California, and together they shared 32 wonderful years of marriage.

A devoted homemaker, Kayvron lovingly cared for her family and was well known for preparing delicious meals for those she loved. Her famous no-bake cookies were a favorite among family and friends alike. She also had a tremendous love for dogs, showing compassion not only to her own pets, but to stray animals as well. Kayvron was a woman of strong Christian faith and lived her life with kindness and grace.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle patience, and caring spirit. Kayvron’s loud, joyful laugh, beautiful green eyes, and unwavering devotion to her family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alan Hammond; her children, Brian Gattis of the home, Tracy Mosby and husband Jeff, Brandy Darr, Shannon Campbell and husband J.D., and Amanda Lifonzo and husband Christian; her very special niece, Amy Elliott and husband Josh; one soon-to-be-born great-granddaughter, Ameliana; her siblings, Randy Stewart and wife Mary, Paulette McGraham, and Freda Brock; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Kayvron was preceded in death by her parents, S.K. and Mildred Stewart; and her siblings, Steve Stewart, Carol Stewart, Norma Tidwell, Leneda Lasiter, and Sammy Stewart.

A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, with Pastor Jeff Jones officiating. Services are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kayvron’s honor to ASPCA or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
