Nancy Jane (Woodsmall) Thompson, 62, of Greenwood, Arkansas, walked into the arms of the Lord, Friday January 23, 2026. Nancy was a retired waitress and current stay at home Mimi, her true life’s calling. Nancy was born on July 16, 1963, in Orange, California, to the late Harold Martin Woodsmall and Vernosa (Parker) Woodsmall.
She is survived by her daughters, Miranda Peterson and husband Jordan of Mansfield, and Tori Thompson and partner RD Harmon of Greenwood; one very beloved niece, Melanie Shrum and husband Tator; and the two loves of her life, granddaughters, Emerson Jenkins and Ellison Peterson. She is also survived by countless nieces and nephews and many chosen family members.
She was a true “Aunt Nancy” to anyone that needed it. Nancy’s greatest accomplishment was getting sober and becoming the best mom and mimi to her girls. She enjoyed all things, peace, love, and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Larkin Thompson; her parents, Harold and Vernosa Woodsmall; one sister, Linda Grouse; and her two fur babies, Lily and Inka.
Her celebration of life will be announced at a later time. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Please remember Nancy in her true hippie self who loved working in the yard and crafting with her granddaughters. Also remember her words, “Give it to God and go on. That’s all you can do.” In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude’s Medical Center.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
