Addie Laverne Atwell

Addie Laverne Atwell, 81, of Van Buren passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026 in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Atwell; her parents, Roy Dow and Vera (Harris) Baggett; a sister, Willie Frances Justice; a brother, Roy Dow Baggett.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy of the home; one daughter, Deborah Barrett of Cedarville; one son, Darin Atwell and wife Keli of Cedarville; two sisters, Gailla McMaster of Cedarville and Lela Mae Brunk of Muldrow, Oklahoma; three brothers, Lee Jefferson Baggett of Cedarville, Bill Baggett of Chester and David Baggett of Kibler; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home Van Buren.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 4 to 6 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Darin Atwell, Garreth Atwell, Alvin Medlin, Anthony Atwell, Timothy Atwell and Timothy Carr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill, David and Lee Baggett.
