Betty Lou Holland of Branch, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at her home. She was born on February 21, 1929, in Charleston, Arkansas, to the late Everett Lee Buckner and Lettie (Patterson) Buckner. She was almost 96 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Holland, Sr.; an infant daughter, Patty Lou; three sisters, Mary Ann Thomson, Ethel Colvard and Sue Neissl; a brother, Everett Buckner; and a great-great-grandson, Knox McGrew.
Betty was a 1948 graduate of Charleston High School. She was a homemaker, member of First Baptist Church in Branch, and attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Caulksville. Betty loved her family and she was loved very much by her family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 10th, at Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bill VanMeter officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her children, Judy Price and husband David of Branch, Marvin Holland, Jr. and wife Mary Lynn of Branch, and Larry Holland and wife Mary of Greenwood; two brothers, Don Buckner and wife Betty of Charleston and Nick Gilsinger and wife Linda of Charleston; eight grandchildren, Yvette Montgomery and husband Paul, Michele Price, Shawn Price and wife Amanda, Nicole Edwards and husband Kelly, Matt Holland and wife Marie, Blake Holland and wife Ashley, Andrew Holland and wife Cordy, and Chris Holland and Adrienne; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Shawn Price, Matt Holland, Andrew Holland, Blake Holland, Chris Holland, Trey Montgomery, Drake Price, and Konnor Edwards.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The Betty Holland family wants to extend a special thank you to Susan Strobel, Nina Johnson, and to Betty’s granddaughter, Michele Price, for the love and care given to their mother, Betty Lou Holland.
